General FAQs

What is this website?

This website is a free service to help devotees find jobs and service opportunities in ISKCON and to help ISKCON centres and departments recruit devotees.

What is a devotee?

When we use the word ‘devotee’ we are referring to a member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

Is this site free?

Yes.

What kind of jobs are on this site?

This site contains jobs and service opportunities in ISKCON and affiliated institutions, such as devotee schools.

What services do you offer?

We are simply a facilitator. We provide a platform for ISKCON employers and ISKCON devotees to connect, and we carry no responsibility for the outcome. By using this site you specifically acknowledge this.

How do I register?

A user can have an employer account or a candidate account. This selection is made at the time of creating an account. By default, posting a job creates an employer account and applying for a job or posting a resume creates a candidate account. You can also create an account by clicking on the Sign Up button in the top right corner.

Does my user account from this site also work on other ISKCON sites?

If you register on any one of ISKCON Centres, ISKCON Events or ISKCON Jobs, you can also log in with the same credentials on the other two sites. Having one account makes it easier for you to participate in our network.

Who created this site?

This site is created and managed by devotees serving the ISKCON Communications Ministry.

How do I contact you?

You can reach us by email on jobs [at] iskcon [dot] org. Please do not send us any job application or ask for help in getting a job – we cannot respond to such requests.

Help for Candidates

Can you help me find a job?

We seek to serve you by providing the technology and platform to connect you with employers. We do not offer any additional services. It’s up to you to search for jobs and contact employers.

Who can apply for jobs and/or post resumes on this website?

Anyone can apply for jobs and/or post resumes. You need not be a devotee, but bear in mind that recruiters on this site are generally looking to hire devotees. All resume postings are moderated.

How do I apply for a job?

Start by browsing or searching for jobs. When you have found a job that you want to apply for, read its description carefully to check that it is suitable for you and then click on the APPLY FOR JOB button.

How do I keep my identity confidential when posting my resume?

Post enough information about yourself that it gives an employer a good indication about your profile. Do not post your real name if you want to keep your identity secret. Only bonafide recruiters can view resumes.

Help for Employers

Who can post jobs?

Any ISKCON centre, department or affiliated institution can post a job. Approval of the job posting is at our sole discretion.

What kind of jobs can I post?

Any job (paid or unpaid) can be posted as long as it does not harm our movement, in our reasonable judgement. All postings are moderated and are approved at our sole discretion. We may amend our policy at any time, without notice.

By posting a job, does it mean I only want to recruit devotees for that job?

No. Posting jobs on this site means you want to specifically target devotees, perhaps because of their attitude, skills and qualifications. This is a positive strategy and has no bearing on your recruitment and organisational policies, and is entirely consistent with offering equal opportunities. Many companies regularly target their recruitment strategies to specific groups of society in order to improve diversity.

Who can view resumes?

An ISKCON employer in good standing with a bonafide requirement and a current job posting is eligible to view resumes, although we may stipulate further requirements from time to time. We may request further information to verify your requirement. Approval is at our sole discretion.
